Manchester United Accused of Making “False Promises” to Pogba
Paul Pogba’s brother, Mathias, has accused Manchester United of under-delivering on agreements made with the French international during his first spell at Old Trafford.
The 29-year-old midfielder is currently on the verge of leaving the English Premier League club, as he will be out-of-contract soon, and has signalled no intentions of signing a renewal with the Red Devils.
In 2012, Pogba left United to join Juventus, where his form improved vastly, and then became the number one target of his former club, which broke the bank to get him back for a club-record fee of £89.3 million.
The elder Pogba brother has now revealed that he was the one that convinced the French midfielder to leave Man United and sign up with Juve.
Mathias said: “Not only did I push him a little: it’s thanks to me that he signed there. I convinced him, 100 percent.”
He added: “And look at the player he has become. In Manchester, they were making him false promises.”
It’s still unclear where Pogba will go next, but Juventus has shown interest in taking the talented younger Pogba brother back to Turin.
